Please Note: This tool is identical to our regular Grace's Disc Shaper EXCEPT the mandrel slots are larger. Our regular size Grace's Disc Shaper is also listed for sale and accommodates 1/16 inch and 3/32 inch mandrels.
Grace's Disc Shaper Large Slots will accommodate 3/16 and 1/4 inch mandrels with bead release. The cut slot is 5/16 inch, the paddles are 1.5 inches square, the length is 7 inches and it weights 7 oz.
This tool is made using our proven hinge design, which allows a well balanced sprung handle that allows the tool to close parallel. This Multi-tasking tool shapes various thickness of beads- you can shape a cabachon by sliding the mandrel through the slot and flatten the bead against the bottom OR top paddle only. For making making discs, one gentle squeeze can instantly and evenly shape the bead. Gone is the old fashioned method of squeezing around the bead repeatedly with tweezers .
We've found it's best to let the bead cool slightly, not molten, so the bead retains it's shape. Creative lampworkers will find many more uses for this versatile tool!
